Bob Dudley

BP
Bob Dudley became Chief Executive Officer of BP p.l.c. in 2010. He joined the oil and gas industry in 1979 and has held a variety of engineering, commercial and strategy posts in the US, the UK, Russia and China.
In 2009, Mr Dudley was appointed to the BP p.l.c. board with accountability for the Americas and Asia.
From 2003 to 2008 Mr Dudley served as President and Chief Executive Officer of TNK-BP in Moscow.
Following BP p.l.c.’s sale of TNK-BP in Russia and acquisition of ~20% of Rosneft, he joined the Rosneft board in 2013.
Previous executive roles include alternative and renewable energy activities, responsibilities for BP p.l.c.’s upstream business in Russia, the Caspian region and Africa, and BP p.l.c.’s Gulf Coast Restoration activities.
Mr Dudley’s external roles include membership in various business councils and advisory boards and he chairs the Oil & Gas Climate Initiative. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Mr Dudley has a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois, a masters in international management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber
Minister of State, United Arab Emirates and Chief Executive Officer
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC)
H.E. Dr Sultan Al Jaber is a Minister of State in the United Arab Emirates Cabinet and Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC Group).
As Minister of State, Dr Al Jaber is responsible for a number of economic, political, development and social files of the UAE, promoting the UAE’s strategic relations with a number of countries. Dr Al Jaber oversaw the UAE’s development program in Egypt, where he applied a unique, hands-on partnership model of project implementation. He also assisted in the launch of the China Joint Strategic Investment Fund and represents the UAE on the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. Before entering government, Dr Al Jaber developed a specialized expertise in energy and infrastructure, beginning his early career at ADNOC. He established Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s pioneering renewable energy initiative, and served seven years as its Chief Executive Officer, guiding its global contribution to clean technology and sustainable development. In February 2016, while retaining the chairmanship of Masdar, he returned to ADNOC as its Chief Executive Officer, where he leads its evolution to remain one of the world’s leading energy companies and a central pillar of the UAE’s economy.
Dr Al Jaber holds a number of additional executive positions, including Chairman of the National Media Council, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Ports Company and Director-General of the Zayed Future Energy Prize. In 2009 he led Masdar’s efforts in the UAE’s successful bid to host the headquarters of the “International Renewable Energy Agency.” Dr Al Jaber holds a PhD in business and economics from the UK, as well as BSc in chemical and petroleum engineering and an MBA from the US.
H.E. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo

H.E. Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo of Nigeria began his tenure as Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries on August 1, 2016. He has previously been Nigeria’s National Representative, as well as its Governor, to OPEC, and in 2006, he was Acting OPEC Secretary General.
From 2009 to 2010, he was Group Managing Director and CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Earlier in his career, he was Special Assistant to former Minister of Petroleum Resources and OPEC Secretary General, H.E. Dr Rilwanu Lukman KBE.
Mr Barkindo has also been the leader of Nigeria’s technical delegation to the UN climate change negotiations since 1991. He served as chair of the Group of 77 and China at the UNFCCC and he was elected to serve three terms as Vice President of the Conference of the Parties - COP13 (Bali, Indonesia), COP14 (Poznan, Poland) and COP15 (Copenhagen, Denmark), where he chaired the opening session.
Since his assumption of office as OPEC Secretary General, he remains a leading voice in the long-standing quest for more OPEC and non-OPEC cooperation for stable oil markets on a sustainable basis.
Saad Al-Kaabi

Engineer Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi joined Qatar Petroleum (QP) in 1986 as a student studying Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering at the US’ Pennsylvania State University, from which he graduated in 1991 with a BSc in petroleum and natural
gas engineering.
Immediately after graduation, Mr Al-Kaabi joined QP’s Reservoir and Field Development Department, where he progressed through various petroleum engineering, technical, commercial and supervisory positions. He then became the Manager of Gas Development responsible for North Field management and development, where he and his team played a key role in the rapid launch of several large domestic and export pipeline projects as well as many mega gas projects based on the latest technologies, which were implemented in record time and contributed to Qatar's rapid rise to becoming the LNG and GTL capital of the world.
From 2006 until this appointment, Mr Al-Kaabi was the Director of QP’s Oil & Gas Ventures Directorate, where he oversaw Qatar’s exploration activities and oil and gas field developments.
In September 2014, Mr Al-Kaabi was appointed as QP’s Managing Director. As part of a major reorganization of QP, he later became (in November 2014) the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Ben van Beurden

Royal Dutch Shell
Ben van Beurden became Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc on January 1, 2014.
He joined Shell in 1983, after graduating with a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Mr van Beurden’s career in Shell spans both upstream and downstream activities. He has held a number of operational and commercial roles, including some 10 years in the LNG business, as well as a variety of positions in downstream, and has been based in The Hague, Sudan, Malaysia, London and Houston.
In January 2005, Mr van Beurden became Vice President Manufacturing Excellence (Houston, US). In this role he was responsible for standards in operational excellence and high- performance initiatives in refining and chemicals manufacturing.
In December 2006, he was appointed Executive Vice President Chemicals (London, UK). During his tenure in this role, Mr van Beurden was appointed to the boards of several leading industry associations including the International Council of Chemicals Associations and the European Chemical Industry Council.
Mr van Beurden became a member of the Executive Committee in January 2013 as Downstream Director, with regional responsibility for Europe and Turkey.
In 2015, he became a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, in Beijing.
Fatih Birol

International Energy Agency
Dr Fatih Birol has served as Executive Director of the International Energy Agency since September 2015. Under his leadership, the IEA has undertaken its first comprehensive modernization program since the creation of the agency in 1974. Prior to his nomination as Executive Director, Dr Birol spent
20 years as a staff member at the agency, serving most recently as Chief Economist. He has been named by Forbes magazine as one of the most influential people on the world’s energy scene and was recognized by the Financial Times as energy personality of the year in 2017. He is the founder and chair of the IEA Energy Business Council, one of the most active industry advisory groups in global energy. He also chairs the World Economic Forum’s (Davos) Energy Advisory Board and serves on the UN Secretary-General’s Advisory Board on ”Sustainable Energy for All.”
Patrick Pouyanné

Patrick Pouyanné is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer for Total. He held various positions in ministerial offices from 1989-96, including Environment Technical Adviser to the Prime Minister (1993-95) and Chief of Staff to the Information Technology Minister (1995-96). He joined Total in 1997 in Angola, then in Qatar in 1999. In 2002, he was named Senior Vice President (SVP) Finance, Economics and Information Systems Exploration & Production.
In 2006, he became SVP Strategy, Business Development, R&D, Exploration & Production. In 2012, he was appointed President, Refining & Chemicals and member of the Executive Committee. He is a graduate of École Polytechnique and an Engineer of the French Corps des Mines.
