Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School
Robert Waldinger, M.D., is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst and Zen priest. He is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he directs the Harvard Study of Adult Development. Begun in 1938, and continuing to this day, it is the longest study of human well-being ever conducted.

Dr. Waldinger is the co-author of “The Good Life” with Marc Schulz, which examines the central role of relationships in shaping our health and well-being. His TEDx talk on this subject is one of the 10 most-viewed talks in the history of TED.

He is a Zen master (Roshi) and teaches Zen meditation in Newton, Mass., and internationally.
