Pui-Wing Tam is the Technology Editor at The New York Times. She was previously U.S. Tech Editor at Bloomberg News, and prior to that was at The Wall Street Journal for 18 years as a Reporter in Hong Kong and New York, and in San Francisco as a Tech Correspondent and Editor. She was born in Hong Kong, raised in Tokyo, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University and a master’s from Columbia University Journalism School. In 1998 she was part of a team of Journal reporters that won an Overseas Press Club Award for coverage of the Asian financial crisis, and she was twice named to the TJFR “Top 30 under 30.” She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and children.
