Speaker Bio
Dov Seidman is the Founder and Chief Executive of LRN Corp., and the author of The New York Times best-selling book “HOW: Why HOW We Do Anything Means Everything.” Fortune magazine has called Seidman a “corporate whisperer” because of his “ability to take the challenges that C.E.O.s and other leaders face in their day-to-day roles and place them in a broader context of decision-making.” Seidman pioneered an industry nearly 25 years ago when he founded LRN, a technology and education company whose purpose is to “help people around the world do the right thing.” LRN has educated tens of millions of employees working in over 100 countries on how to meet legal and regulatory requirements and how to handle the ethical and legal issues they face on the job. LRN also works with corporate leadership teams to help foster ethical cultures and inspire principled performance in their operations. Seidman testified in 2004 before the U.S. Sentencing Commission on why organizations must move from a check-the-box approach to compliance to one where they create cultures that foster ethical behavior. His proposals were adopted and are the standards upon which companies are now judged. Seidman recently founded the HOW Institute for Society, a nonprofit that seeks to build and nurture a culture of moral leadership and principled decision-making that enables individuals and institutions to meet and manage the profound changes of the 21st century. He serves on the boards of the 92nd Street Y and Planet Word, and partners closely with the United Nations Global Compact and World Economic Forum. Led by a lifelong pursuit and passion for ethical leadership, he partners with the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity for their prize in ethics. Seidman is a regular contributor and commentator for The New York Times, Fortune and Harvard Business Review. He has advanced degrees in moral philosophy from the University of California at Los Angeles, Oxford University and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
