Damien Hooper-Campbell is eBay’s first Chief Diversity Officer and has deep expertise as a change agent within the technology and finance industries, nonprofit sector and academia. He is responsible for leading the design and implementation of eBay’s strategy for embedding diversity and inclusion across its global workforce, workplace and marketplace. He also leads eBay’s University Recruiting and Programs team to ensure that diversity and inclusion are inherent to eBay’s recruiting strategy.
Prior to eBay Hooper-Campbell served as Uber’s first Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion where he helped set the company’s foundational diversity and inclusion strategy. Before that he advised Google’s senior leaders and built partnerships within the black community as a diversity strategist. Prior to Google Hooper-Campbell served as Vice President in Goldman Sachs’ Leadership Development Group. He previously led underrepresented minority outreach for Harvard Business School’s Admissions Board, and empowered Harlem’s nonprofit community as an Associate Program Manager for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ).
Hooper-Campbell has served on the Board of New Jersey Needs You and as a mentor for Morehouse College’s Executive Mentorship Program. He was named a 2018 Top Corporate Diversity Executive by Black Enterprise and was selected for the California Diversity Council’s 2017 Leadership Excellence Award, the Network Journal’s 40 Under Forty Achievers Award in 2017, and Ebony Magazine’s 2016 Power 100 list.
Hooper-Campbell graduated with a B.A. in economics from Morehouse College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was both a Bert King and Morgan Stanley fellow.
