Karen and Kevin Keyes Notre Dame head coach Muffet McGraw just completed her 32nd season at the helm of the Irish (835–234) and 37th year overall as a head coach (923–275). With 923 career wins, McGraw ranks seventh all-time among Division I coaches and sixth among active coaches. McGraw is also just one of four coaches (men’s or women’s basketball) in N.C.A.A. Division I history with over 900 wins, nine Final Fours and multiple national championships. The prestigious list includes Pat Summitt, Geno Auriemma and Duke men’s coach Mike Krzyzewski.
McGraw boasts nine Final Fours, seven NCAA title game appearances and the third most NCAA Tournament wins with 67. Coach McGraw is one of six coaches with multiple NCAA titles, joining Auriemma, Summitt, Linda Sharp, Tara VanDerveer and Kim Mulkey. On Dec. 30, 2018, McGraw became the fourth-fastest Division I coach to reach 900 career wins, doing so in 1,172 games. In September 2017 McGraw took her rightful spot in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
