Otto Waterlander is a Senior Partner in McKinsey & Company’s Amsterdam Office and the leader of its Global Gas work worldwide.

With over 27 years of consulting and managerial experience in the energy industry, Mr Waterlander applies a blend of broad organizational experience and deep industry knowledge to develop long-term visions for his clients. He serves a broad range of international oil and gas companies and governments, helping them to improve their performance via transformational, operational and strategic programs that address external and internal challenges and establish the basis for sustained success. He also has helped governments set energy policy, and draws upon particular expertise in assessing gas market dynamics, including long-term gas contract renegotiations and arbitrations, emerging trading models and evolving competitive dynamics.

Mr Waterlander holds a master’s degree in Business Economics from Erasmus University. Prior to joining McKinsey, he has held several leadership positions in both consultancies and the industry, notably with Royal Dutch Shell, where he held various roles in the Netherlands and Venezuela.
