Tom Langford is a renowned senior energy dealmaker with considerable knowledge and experience of the energy banking business.

He joined UBS in 2011 as managing director
and global head of energy investment banking, based in Houston, Texas. He was appointed head of global natural resources investment banking in October 2013 with responsibility for global deal activity across the bank’s newly merged practices of energy, mining and chemicals.

Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Langford spent almost two decades at Morgan Stanley, most recently serving as global head of energy and managing director. During his tenure at Morgan Stanley, he has worked in New York, Asia, and Houston with responsibility for energy investment banking in the United States, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, He led notable privatizations include Sinopec, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand and the Gas Authority of India. He also directed landmark transactions, including Unocal’s acquisition by Chevron, the acquisition of Tosco by Phillips, Conoco’s merger with Phillips, the acquisition of Burlington by ConocoPhillips, Marathon Oil’s spin-off of Marathon Petroleum, and the merger of Holly Corporation and Frontier Oil.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Langford worked as an energy consultant for McKinsey & Company, and as a production engineer with Exxon Mobil.
